The Mageni Appliance supports backups. These backups may be stored locally or remote. By default the backups are stored locally.
To know the several options that the backup's command offers, just enter in the console: "backup ?" and it will show you an screen like this:
How to create a backup
As you can see in the previous screenshot. You can create, delete, destroy, list, pull, push and restore the backups. To create a backup type "backup create" and press [ENTER]:
How to list the backups
In order to list the backups you need to run: "backup list" and press [ENTER]
How to store backups in a remote server
By default, the backups are stored locally. To store the backups on a remote server the remote server has to be setup appropriately. The Appliance uses the SFTP protocol supported by the secure shell to transfer the backups.
backup push <username> <host> <directory>

Pull backup from remote server
You can pull a backup from a remote server using the command "backup pull" as you can see in the following screenshot:
For a factory reset you need to run "backup destroy". Please note that before you proceed you must create a backup with "backup create" as "backup destroy" will destroy the database and your only to restore the appliance is restoring a backup.
To restore a backup is very easy. You just need to enter "backup restore" and [ENTER] and the restore will be performed automatically.
